Thought For The Week
An incident happened in the first parish I was sent to that I will never forget. I received a sick call from the hospital saying that a patient needed anointing and could the priest come. I said I would be there in a while. It was another fifteen or so minutes before I finished talking with someone who had called. When I arrived at the hospital, I was told the gentleman in question had died just a little while ago. The ground could have swallowed me up. I felt awful. When my parish priest got back from his day-off, I went in to see him and tell him what had happened. I expected a good dressing down, but was surprised when he said in a very gentle voice: ‘John, do you think that that man’s eternal salvation was dependent on whether you got there on time and anointed him? Of course not. But do learn from the incident.’ Father, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Amen.

YOUNG ADULTS PRAYER GROUP
Deep Waters is every Thursday at 1 Elm Grove. Come at 7pm for food, fellowship and prayer. Young adults are also welcome to 1 Elm Grove for Sunday lunch after 11.30 Mass. THERE IS NO DEEP WATERS OR SUNDAY LUNCH IN AUGUST.
THE HUB
Is a youth group for anyone in Years 6-8. We meet fortnightly on Fridays from 7-8.30pm in the parish hall in Milton Road.
OVERFLOW
Is a group for anyone in Years 11-13. We meet fortnightly on Tuesday evenings (6.30-8pm) in the parish hall for food, prayer and discussions.

St Joseph's runs two youth liturgies each month at the 11.30am Mass.

WORLD YOUTH DAY
10-22 August 2011, Madrid – Are you aged 16-35 and interested in meeting thousand of other young people and the Pope, in a faith filled, fun experience?
